Torn Curtain is a 1966 film directed by Alfred Hitchcock in Technicolor.
The idea for the film came to the director since 1951, when two British diplomats, Guy Burgess and Donald Maclean, fled to the Soviet Union, causing a great stir.
The screenplay was entrusted to Brian Moore, author of successful novels such as The Lonely Passion of Judith Hearne; Keith Waterhouse and Willis Hall, the English screenwriters of Billy the Liar, a play very well received by audiences and critics, were also contacted for the dialogues.
