I delitti del BarLume was an Italian television series broadcast since 2013 as a pay-per-view by Sky Cinema, and since 2015 free-to-air by TV8. Produced by Palomar, the fiction consists of two self-contained episodes per season.
Based on the novels of Marco Malvaldi, it tells the story of Massimo Viviani, bartender of the imaginary Tuscan town of Pineta, in each episode dealing with various crimes in the town where he lives. Thanks to his investigative instinct, which finds inspiration from the conversations of the four elderly patrons of his bar, he always manages to sniff out the right lead.
Although it is a television series, each episode is shot as a stand-alone TV movie linked to the others by a horizontal plot. To date, 16 episodes have been shot over 8 seasons.
The King of Games (2010)
During the municipal elections, a tragic accident occurs: Marina Corucci, secretary of the center-left party, crashes into a car with her fifteen-year-old son. Both urgently hospitalized, the two die a short distance from each other, leaving many suspects of manslaughter on their acquaintances, first of all a politician [4], left-wing leader and lover of Marina Corucci. Massimo, determined more than ever not to meddle in the crime, is as always pushed by the beloved-hated octogenarian habitués to investigate the murky intrigues that unfold around the two sudden deaths of his mother and son.
The highest card (2012)
Aldo, whose restaurant was destroyed, is looking for a new place that he would have identified in a structure called Villa del Chiostro, a beauty farm set up years earlier by Riccardo Foresti, a character with a bad reputation and from which Aldo would like guarantees. Pilade and the old people who frequent the BarLume discover that the structure had been bought as bare property at a much lower value, to a certain Ranieri Carratori who died suddenly [5] after about a month from the signing of the contract, apparently, for a very serious illness. Meanwhile, a tendon injury forces Massimo to be admitted to the same hospital where Carratori died. The four octogenarians-detectives of the bar will provide Massimo with ideas for the solution of the case between gossip and drinking
