Montalbano, with the men he has, is grappling with the emergency for the landings of numerous migrants and also deals with the murder of Elena Biasini, an acquaintance of Livia who was massacred with a tailor's scissors in her workshop. With her worked Meriam, mother tongue Arabic, the elderly Nicola and the young Lillo Scotto, who had fallen in love with her and had just been fired from the tailor's shop.
