Mars: War Logs is set on the Red Planet. The plot of the game presents the events taking place one hundred years after the catastrophe that plunged the planet into the Choas. Water has become the most valuable resource, and various organizations are fighting for access to its resources. The main character controlled by the player is a former member of one of the fighting factions - Roy Temperance. Like many, he tries to ensure his survival in this inhospitable place. By the way, he gets involved in an intrigue that may affect the fate of the entire Martian colony.

The game is based on classic cRPG solutions. Players can develop the character of the main character through dozens of skills and perks. It is also possible to join the encountered characters to the party and create new items. The creators also made sure that the actions and decisions made by Roy had an impact on the course of the plot.

An important element of the game is the fight that takes place in real time. The main character and his companions have to face hundreds of enemies, including numerous beasts inhabiting the surface of Mars. A large arsenal of available weapons and varied combat abilities come to their aid.
