In fact, this statement masks the rarely realized fact that, despite all its glory and the material circumstances surrounding it, as well as the constant accusations that the group has long since become an icon of corporate rock, the Texas trinity has remained a folk band in the best sense of the word - or, if we reformulate this definition for the southern states, the largest small blues-rock band in the world. The fact that the ZZ Top is a blues band is no discovery for those familiar with the band’s work before 1983. The material’s performance is staggering, especially since at the concert presented at Live From Texas the band intentionally does not use redundant sound processing even presented here plays "MTV era" 1983-1985. - Rough Boy, Gimme All Your Lovin ’, Sharp Dressed Man and Legs. The dampish sound of the naturally overloaded Gibson Trio guitars is most to the face.
