Argentinian band.
Since 1974, when Gustavo Moretto, Carlos Riganti and Alex Zuker formed a group called ALAS (Spanish for "wings", this sophisticated trio has captured the ambience of Buenos Aires by combining the radical styles of Progressive Rock, Tango, Argentine Folk and most Contemporary Classical music.
Their incorporation of the traditional instrument, the bandoneon, had never been tried before in this new musical context and it is still a milestone in the history of Buenos Aires popular music.
Astor Piazzolla, Argentine Tango Master and internationally renowned musician Pedro Aznar, have praised ALAS for their successful fusion and called them the most sophisticated Argentine progressive band of all time.
