Angelo Ricciardi lives and works in Napoli where he was born. His study is based on the relation between writing and the configuration of contemporary society, with particular interest in the exchanges between verbal and visual communication. His projects are usually performances wich used to be realized using daily life’s objects: the leaflet in leafleting (2002), the yellow tape in Art Line Do Not Cross (2004), the birthday cake in Happy Birthday, Mister Johns! (2005), the head light safety helmet in Mobile Lighthouses (200 , alphabet letters in Achtung Bitte Kunst Kann Eine Falle Sein (2009), the book in Artiste à l’Artiste (2013-in progress). They happen in different cities in the world in the same time in collaboration with international artists. He is author of numerous artist's books, many of them present in important public and private collections (MoMA Library, Printed Matter, The Center for Book Arts, Poets House, New York, USA; Liliana Dematteis Collection, Torino, Italy; Archivio del '900 Mart of Trento and Rovereto, Italy; CLA Centre de Livres d'Artistes, Bruxelles, Belgium; etc.). He is co-founder of CODICE EAN, an independent laboratory focusing on the contemporary. He took part in Progetto Oreste. He collaborated with kainòs, web magazine of philosophical criticism, in the editorial project Le parole del Novecento (Words From The Twentieth-Century). He published in 2011 for Martano Editore, Torino, Italy, the book 1999-2010, a sort of tale where, through images and words, the artist try to bring the reader into a context of his artistic activity.
