The Good, the Bad and the Ugly is a 1966 film directed by Sergio Leone.
Among the most famous westerns in the history of cinema, it is considered the quintessence of the successful spaghetti western genre. Shot in the wake of the success of A Fistful of Dollars and For a Few Dollars More, the film completes the Leonian dollar trilogy. To escape the risk of repetition once again, the director increases the number of protagonists again, from two to three, placing the plot in the historical context of the American Civil War.
