    Akcja filmu rozgrywa się w fikcyjnym mieście Bay City, gdzie służbę pełnią agenci policyjni Dave Starsky i Ken
    "Hutch" Hutchinson. Ten pierwszy jest zawziętym służbistą, zaś drugi wielkim luzakiem. Obaj sprawiają kłopoty
    i nie zliczają się do ulubieńców swego szefa, więc ten postanawia skojarzyć ich w parę. Chłopcy też nie od razu
    przypadają sobie do gustu, ale w miarę tropienia złoczyńców topnieje ich wzajemna niechęć. Razem wpadają na trop
    dilera narkotykowego, który zamierza wprowadzić na rynek nową odmianę kokainy. I okazują się "psami" z wyjątkowo
    dobrym nosem. Film jest remakem kultowego serialu policyjnego z lat 70.
