Dalla Disney-Pixar un film di John Lasseter, già acclamato regista di Toy Story. Siamo a Central Park, in una piccola colonia di dolcissime formiche, purtroppo indebolite dalla siccità e assediate dalla perfida banda di cavallette guidate dal cattivo Hopper. Flik, la giovane protagonista, è un inventore pasticcione ma dal cuore grande. Capisce che solo con un aiuto esterno potrà salvare la colonia, e così parte per un viaggio durante il quale assolda un gruppo di insetti-attori, provenienti da un circo di pulci, con i quali sconfigge Hopper e conquista l'amore della principessa Atta. L'eterna lotta tra il bene ed il male è qui sorretta da una trama ricca di situazioni esilaranti e di dialoghi brillanti. Ottima la caratterizzazione dei personaggi, tanto che alla fine, durante i titoli di coda, vengono proposti i "ciak sbagliati", come se si fosse girato un film con attori veri. Sicuramente un film d'animazione ben riuscito, affascinante e divertente anche per un pubblico adulto.
