Fifty years after the release of the Italian horror film Nuda per Satana (Nude for Satan, 1974), the original soundtrack by Alberto Baldan Bembo has finally been released. The soundtrack features 15 tracks totaling approximately 37 minutes, sourced from the original mono master tapes preserved by Edizioni Musicali S.A.A.R.
Bembo’s music blends ominous electronic textures, tense synthesizers, and eerie female vocal effects, effectively capturing the film’s atmosphere of terror. At the same time, the soundtrack includes contrasting, danceable segments that provide moments of relief. The compositions range from haunting themes to energetic interludes, showcasing the composer’s wide musical range.
Directed by Luigi Batzella and starring Rita Calderoni, the film was shot over five weeks beginning March 25, 1974, primarily at the Monte San Giovanni Campano castle in Lazio. It premiered in Italian cinemas on October 23, 1974. Calderoni was cast after Batzella saw her in a previous film by Renato Polselli. The soundtrack’s release serves as a tribute to both Bembo’s work and the legacy of Italian genre cinema.
