Struggling homesteaders across the country are turning expert homesteader Marty Raney-along with his daughter Misty Raney, a farmer, and son Matt Raney, a hunter and fisherman-to teach them the necessary skills to survive the wilderness. The stakes are high, but the Raney family is determined to prepare these families for nature's worst and set them up for success. Each family faces the ultimate decision: will they tough out their first year or pack up and return to civilization?

Season 6 - Episodes 1 to 6
Episode 1 Crisis Calls
In Alaska, the Raneys turn a homestead on the verge of going up in flames into a golden opportunity. Later they race to Louisiana to protect a family under threat of vicious storms, black mold and feral hogs.
Episode 2 Moose Mayhem
To save a single mom and her daughter from rampaging moose and secure a source of food, Marty builds a bridge across a murky creek to access more property, Matt teaches predator deterrent techniques, and Misty builds a snow-proof greenhouse.
Episode 3 House of 30,000 Tires
The Raneys arrive in Ohio to find the Broadhead family struggling to survive in their home made of 30,000 tire bales. Battling intruding pests, flooding, and unstable walls, the Raneys have their hands full in one of their most challenging rescues.
Episode 4 Cobbers Nightmare
The Raneys continue rescuing the Broadhead's tire bale homestead in Central Ohio; the clock is ticking as Marty, Misty, and Matt work to provide fresh water, strengthen walls and jumpstart an indoor garden.
Episode 5 Quake Shattered
After a devastating earthquake, Marty saves the Hartleys' log cabin from crumbling to the ground while Misty replaces a collapsed greenhouse and Matt constructs a brand new building for the family to start a diesel engine repair shop.
Episode 6 Troubled Water
The Raneys help an Oregon couple with a toxic salt water well who are desperate for a viable water source. Marty needs clay to build a massive catchment pond and Matt must build a large scale solar still to de-contaminate the water.
